SFDR and EU Taxonomy
The Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) is an EU legal act designed to enhance transparency in the sustainable investment product market. Its goals are to counteract “greenwashing” and amplify the clarity of sustainability declarations made by financial market players, including banks, funds, insurance companies and others.
The EU Taxonomy regulation seeks to introduce a standardised categorisation of sustainable practices throughout the EU. This helps combat “greenwashing” and assists investors and businesses in making well-informed decisions regarding nature-friendly practices. Its overarching ambition is to channel private investments into activities that mitigate and adapt to climate impacts, support biodiversity protection and other environmental areas.
